Backends built to carry your business
Scalable backends, data models, and APIs that power your platform reliably — built for performance, security, and maintainability over time.
The backend is the foundation
Everything your team and your clients see — dashboards, portals, mobile apps — rests on the layer they never see. When the backend is solid, the rest of the system stays fast, correct, and easy to extend. When it isn't, every new feature gets harder, every integration gets riskier, and outages arrive at the worst possible moments.
Velantra builds backend infrastructure the way it should be built: designed around how your business actually works, engineered for reliability first, and documented so it remains maintainable long after launch. All engineering is 100% in-house — no outsourcing, ever.
What we build
- REST APIs — clean, versioned interfaces that power your own products and let partners integrate with you safely.
- Webhooks — event-driven endpoints that push data to the systems that need it, the moment something happens.
- Data architecture — schemas and data models designed for integrity today and reporting needs tomorrow.
- Cloud infrastructure — provisioned as code, monitored, and sized to your actual workload.
A backend rarely lives alone. It is usually the engine behind an operational software platform that runs scheduling, dispatch, and reporting — and the hub that automations and third-party integrations plug into to keep every system synchronised without manual work.
A proven stack — no experiments on your budget
We build on technologies with long track records, large talent pools, and strong security ecosystems. That keeps your platform fast to develop, straightforward to hire for, and safe to run for years.
Architecture before code
Backend mistakes are expensive to undo, so we design the system before writing a single line of code. In the architecture phase you see the data model, the API surface, and the infrastructure plan — and you review and approve everything before the build starts. Development then runs iteratively with weekly demos, so you watch the system take shape continuously instead of waiting months for a reveal.
Who this is for
- Teams that need a dependable backend for a new platform, portal, or mobile product.
- Businesses whose systems don't talk to each other and need well-designed APIs and webhooks between them.
- Companies running on a fragile or legacy backend that needs to be stabilised, documented, or replaced without disrupting daily operations.
We work with service businesses across facilities management, professional services, healthcare, field operations, logistics, and more — EU-based and GDPR-native by default.
Frequently asked questions
Which stack do you use, and why?
Node.js, Python, or Go on the application side, PostgreSQL and Redis for data, GraphQL or REST for APIs, and AWS, Google Cloud, or Hetzner provisioned with Docker and Terraform. We choose per project from this proven set — mature tools with strong ecosystems — because your budget should fund your platform, not our experiments.
Who owns the code?
Ownership and IP terms are agreed in the contract for each engagement — typically the client owns the code we write for them, confirmed explicitly per engagement so there is never ambiguity.
How do you handle security and GDPR?
We are EU-based and GDPR-native by default. Security is designed in from the architecture phase — access control, encryption in transit and at rest, and careful handling of personal data — rather than bolted on at the end. Specific compliance requirements are mapped during discovery.
Can you take over an existing backend?
Yes. We start with a discovery review of the current system — code, data model, infrastructure, and pain points — then agree a plan to stabilise, extend, or progressively replace it. The right approach depends on the state of the system and is scoped during discovery.
